Description

The LYA Castor Oil is 100% cold-pressed and pure. Castor oil is known as a natural emollient, helping soothe and lubricate the skin. It is rich in vitamin E, omega 6 and 9. It can act as a humectant by attracting moisture to the hair and skin. Castor Oil is an odourless oil rich in unsaturated fatty acids, including omega-6, omega-9, and Ricinoleic acid a unique fatty acid. The acid helps slow down bacteria growth helping fight against skin infections, wounds and irritated skin. This oil can be used in your beauty routine on the skin to help cleanse, soften and deeply hydrate. Castor oil is filled with antioxidants and triglycerides that penetrate deep into the skin to soothe and eliminate dryness, inflammations and free radical damage; thus, the skin will feel softer and appear more radiant.
It will help to moisturise and condition both the scalp and head deeply. It will help cleanse, nourish and leave the hair feeling smoother and stronger. It can also help reduce frizzy, damage and split ends when used correctly and consistently, leading to thicker and fuller hair. The LYA Castor oil is also great for the nail cuticles;  it helps leave them soft and well hydrated when used. Due to its properties, this oil absorbs deeply into the body’s tissue and continues to nourish using its essential fatty acids. This helps make it a great massage oil or a compressed treatment used for psoriasis, eczema or aching muscles/joints due to its anti-inflammatory properties. It helps protect against dry and cracked lips, heels and skin.

Direction

Use for the Hair:

  • Section off your hair then applies the castor oil to your scalp. Massage the oil into your scalp until absorbed. Then apply the castor oil to the rest of your hair, using the comb to ensure even coverage. It doesn’t need to be soaked through with oil, but all of your hair should be moist. Once applied, put the shower cap on, ensuring all hair is tucked inside. Leave the shower cap on for at least two hours. This will give the oil enough time to penetrate the scalp, hair follicles, and hair shaft. This will also help to add shine, smooth flyaways, and condition your hair.
  • For a deep hydrating weekly treatment, you can coat your hair with castor oil and put on a shower cap before going to bed. This'll allow the oil to condition your hair and scalp while you sleep deeply.
  • Added to shampoo and conditioner, it can help treat a dry, itchy scalp, eliminate dandruff and leave hair with a beautiful shine. To treat dry, frizzy hair and hair with split ends, add a little castor oil to a tiny amount of water and ‘comb’ in, using the fingers.

Use for Hair growth:

  • For hair growth, massage a little castor oil into the roots of your hair once a week. If your hair is prone to getting greasy, use sparingly and be sure to shampoo twice to rinse the oil out thoroughly.

Use for the skin:

  • For a younger-looking complexion: Before bed, apply a small drop of Castor Oil to a clean face. Using your fingertips, gently massage skin in a circular motion until it’s fully absorbed. Leave the oil on overnight and wash off any excess in the morning.
  • For uneven skin: After applying your favourite nourishing or moisturising cream, rub castor oil on the spot-prone or dry areas such as the knees, elbows, and other dry patches to layer up and seal in moisture and keep you feeling silky for longer. Leave the oil on the skin and reapply as needed.
  • For a body moisturiser: Blend with another carrier oil and use as an all-over body moisturiser for silky smooth, hydrated skin. We recommend something light like Sweet Almond or jojoba oil alongside this.

Use to Boost your brows and lashes:

Dab a little castor oil to clean eyebrows and eyelashes before bed. Leave the oil on overnight and wash off any excess in the morning.

Use for Massage:

  • Castor oil has natural anti-inflammatory properties that make it an ideal massage oil that can be applied to aching muscles and joints. You can try massaging the affected area with castor oil, followed by a hot water pack.
  • Make your own massage blend by combining it with another carrier oil and your favourite essential oils. We recommend Sweet Almond or Coconut Oil. For a stimulating and energising blend, try adding Grapefruit, Orange Sweet and Lemon to your blend.

Use for Nails:

Massage some castor oil into the cuticles and bare nails, then go to sleep and allow it to soak in and help protect and strengthen. Wash off access in the morning.
